Project Description

Industrial furnaces: “Made in Kleve”

It was in 2006 that Winkels first designed, planned and built the Ipsen International stand for the HeatTreatmentCongress – Europe’s largest specialist congress for the heat treatment sector – and we have been entrusted with doing so ever since. The celebration of the Kleve-based firm’s 60th anniversary in 2016 required the integration of a stage and an extensive range of information modules and seminar facilities into the plans for that year’s stand.

As in previous years, the stand once again focused on technical innovations and state-of-the-art technologies developed by Ipsen International, which is a global player and market leader in the field of heat treatment furnaces such as those required in the automotive and astronautics industries. In addition to mounts for exhibits, Winkels also built glass cubicle partitions featuring transparent printed graphics as well as large-format prints suitable for reuse at the company’s headquarters. The heart of the stand – and a guaranteed eye-catcher – was once again the highly recognisable large red back wall that has been used every year since 2006.

It was on the 1st of January 1957 – ten years after the founding of Ipsen Industries in Rockford/USA – that Harold Ipsen established a second factory for the production of heat treatment furnaces in Kleve. From its new base in the “city of swans” the firm built a pan-European distribution network that would eventually span the entire globe. “We are delighted to have enjoyed such a long and fruitful relationship with Ipsen, not least because they are our neighbours in the beautiful Lower Rhine Valley,” enthuses Benedikt Winkels, Managing Director of Winkels Interior Design Exhibition GmbH.
