Winkels builds for Lucid at the Kingdom Centre in Riyadh

We have been building exhibition stands at Winkels for six decades – a profession that takes us all over the world. For many years too, we have been realising projects in premium interior design – both nationally and internationally: in the neighbouring town of Kranenburg and in the cosmopolitan city of New York. When implementing concepts for premium pop-up stores, our customers benefit from our experience in both disciplines.

Our client Lucid stands for sustainable mobility and the development of electric cars that redefine the driving experience. In collaboration with the Amsterdam-based project management agency DRDS, the American company opted for our expertise in the production, logistics and installation of international projects. To this end, it commissioned Winkels with the realisation of a pop-up store with initial deployment in Riyadh. In November 2021, two 40-foot containers set off by sea freight from the beautiful Lower Rhine region to Saudi Arabia. And despite backlogs, detours and delays in the pandemic year 2021, they made it to their destination.

On site, the 110 m² presentation area in the Kingdom Centre Riyadh – the shopping centre in the city’s 302-metre high landmark – was installed by our partners under the guidance of our supervisors. High-quality furniture, materials and various exhibits showcasing drive and battery technology were key elements of the pop-up store – alongside the vehicle on display. The pop-up store was visited by many visitors and potential customers from the beginning of December to the end of January. The entire presentation was a complete success for the client, the agency and us. We are looking forward to the next event!
