A sustainable success: Winkels Interior and Sedus Stoll AG at Orgatec 2024

Orgatec 2024 in Cologne was an unforgettable highlight for Sedus Stoll AG – and a wonderful opportunity for us at Winkels Interior to demonstrate our expertise in high-quality trade fair construction. Under the motto “Design to Connect – The Rendezvous Office”, we worked with Sedus and the renowned architects and lighting designers from Consuline to realise a trade fair concept that captivated visitors with its 1,030 m² size and special atmosphere.

From the first idea to the last screw, this trade fair presentation stood for a harmonious interplay of modern design, well thought-out interior design and sustainable construction. The focus was on showing the office of tomorrow as a place that promotes creativity and encounters – a social anchor that inspires and connects. This was made clear not only by the furniture and products from Sedus, but also by the intelligent architectural elements of the trade fair stand, which we at Winkels Interior realised with passion.

A special highlight was the Sedus Smart Café, a place that transferred the atmosphere of a third space – inspired by cafés and garden landscapes – to the office world. The use of biophilic design elements, such as natural shapes and a calming colour palette, created a connection to nature that noticeably contributed to the relaxation and inspiration of visitors.

The lighting concept from the Italian experts at Consuline played a decisive role in the realisation of the design. The combination of energy-efficient light sources and the simulation of natural lighting conditions created a pleasant atmosphere that gave trade fair visitors an authentic and cosy feeling of space.

Sustainability was a central component of this project – a concern that Sedus and Winkels Interior share in equal measure. Materials were used for the stand, 95% of which will be reused or recycled after the trade fair. This included the creative use of rigging equipment as well as the reuse of the modular louvre walls and fabric panels in showrooms and offices. This approach not only led to a remarkable reduction in waste and CO₂ emissions, but also contributed to a cost reduction of over 35% compared to Orgatec 2022. For Winkels Interior, this was proof that sustainable approaches and high-quality exhibition stand construction can go hand in hand without compromising on design or functionality.
