A pan-European pop-up showroom

Berlin, Warsaw, Forte de Marmi – these are just three of the many locations where interested visitors had the chance to enjoy a special brand experience in the BMW Luxury Excellence Pavilion. The pavilion presented the Bavarian car manufacturer’s premium models in an atmosphere that exuded aesthetic appeal, outstanding workmanship and contemporary luxury. Flooded with light, the temporary pavilion exuded a sense of timeless elegance and cosmopolitanism thanks to the clear lines of its open geometry.

An ambitious architectural concept developed by Puchner p3 was realised by Winkels with careful consideration of the different parameters at each location. It was necessary to harmonise all components with one another in terms of not only their basic structure and load-bearing properties, but also the assembly of the pavilion on site. The level of flexibility stipulated by the customer demanded a modular approach characterised by a high level of mobility and expandability. In order to ensure compliance with official guidelines for temporary buildings, the pop-up showroom also had to be designed to withstand a force 10 wind and be usable within a temperature range of -10°C to +40°C. A tablet-based central control system enabled the customer to change the content shown on the presentation screens, adjust the showroom lighting and operate the heating/air-conditioning system.
